Need help developing a meditation practice to manage stress and stay calm
I've been feeling overwhelmed lately trying to balance work pressures, family responsibilities, and my own insecurities. I notice I'm getting triggered more easily during arguments with family members and I want to find healthier ways to respond. I'm new to meditation but interested in using it as a tool to stay calmer during heated moments and manage stress better overall. Does anyone have suggestions for beginner-friendly meditation techniques or routines that could help me pause and regain control when I'm feeling angry or anxious? I'm open to trying different approaches and would appreciate any advice on getting started with a regular practice. Thanks in advance for your support!
Start with short, guided meditations using apps like Headspace or Calm. Focus on deep breathing and body scans. Practice daily, even if just for 5 minutes. When stressed, try the 4-7-8 breathing technique: inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Consistency is key.
