Hey everyone, I've been exploring some new meditation techniques lately that I wanted to share. Before bed, I've started counting in my head until my mind wanders, then starting over at one. It's really helpful for settling my thoughts. Recently, I've also begun incorporating positive self-talk and visualization. I'll say things like 'You are safe, it's okay to feel stressed' and imagine a comforting presence guiding me. It's been surprisingly peaceful and grounding. Has anyone else tried similar approaches? I'd love to hear your experiences with counting, self-soothing, or guided imagery during meditation.
I've tried counting before, but I find it keeps my mind too active. Instead, I focus on my breath and use a mantra like "I am calm" or "Peace." Visualizing a serene place also helps me relax and drift off to sleep.
