Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice on how to progress my bodyweight workouts. I'm currently doing a 4 day/week running program and supplementing with bodyweight exercises since I can't access a gym right now. My main goal is to get leaner and more toned to help with the later stages of long distance runs, and maybe add a bit of muscle too.
I'm not sure whether I should focus on increasing reps or adding more sets to progress. Should I keep the same number of sets but add reps to each set? Or would it be better to add another set but reduce the reps per set (e.g. going from 3x15 to 4x10)?
Any tips from those with experience would be really helpful! Thanks in advance.
Focus on progressively increasing difficulty rather than just reps or sets. Try variations like diamond push-ups, one-leg squats, or decline push-ups. Gradually increase time under tension and incorporate isometric holds. This approach will help build strength and muscle while improving endurance for your runs.
