Noticing muscle tears during eccentric phase - should I be concerned?
Hey everyone, I've been watching some workout videos lately and noticed a concerning trend - a lot of the muscle tears seem to be happening during the eccentric (lowering) phase of exercises. Here are a few examples I've come across:

As someone who's been trying to get more serious about my strength training, this has me a bit worried. Should I be avoiding or minimizing eccentric movements in my workouts? I'd love to hear from some of the more experienced lifters here about whether this is actually a major risk, and if there are ways to safely incorporate eccentric training.
