I'm hoping to get some advice on dealing with chronic sleep issues. For years I've struggled to fall asleep easily, and even when I do manage to drift off, I'm an extremely light sleeper - the slightest noise wakes me up. I also frequently experience anxiety dreams and nightmares.
I've tried various remedies like melatonin supplements and herbal teas, but they only seem to work for a couple hours before I'm wide awake again. Over-the-counter sleep aids help me stay asleep through the night, but leave me feeling groggy the next day. I'm concerned about becoming dependent on them.
My work schedule requires me to be up early, so getting quality sleep is really important. The only thing that's truly helped in the past is indica cannabis, but that's not legally available where I live.
I'd greatly appreciate any tips, recommendations or personal experiences from others who have dealt with similar sleep struggles. Thank you in advance for your help!
