Unconventional ways to manage anxiety - what's your go-to?

Hey wellness friends! Shannon here. I'm always looking for new ways to manage my anxiety, beyond the usual meditation and deep breathing. I'm curious what unique or quirky techniques you've found effective? Personally, I love to sit cross-legged on my yoga mat and gently rock back and forth while running my fingers through a bowl of dry beans. Something about the repetitive motion and texture is so soothing for me. I'd love to hear your unusual anxiety-busting methods! Maybe we can compile a list of creative coping strategies to try. Who knows, your weird trick could be someone else's new favorite technique! Let's share and support each other on our wellness journeys.

Free Workbook for Managing Pandemic Stress - Take Care of Yourself!

Hi everyone, I wanted to share a helpful resource I found for dealing with stress and anxiety during these challenging times. The Wellness Society is offering a free downloadable workbook focused on managing coronavirus-related anxiety. You can get it here: https://thewellnesssociety.org/free-coronavirus-anxiety-workbook/ I know many of us are struggling right now and could use some extra support. This workbook has exercises and tools that may help you develop coping strategies, or at least provide some relief until you're able to connect with a professional. Of course, it's not a cure-all, and some of us are facing bigger challenges than others. But I hope it can be useful for anyone who needs it. Please take care of yourselves and each other. Wishing you all good health and peace of mind during this difficult period.

I have been taking it for less than a month. I started taking testosterone about a year ago because I had low energy. Tried a couple different brand then watched a video on YouTube. The guy doing the video tested this brand the longest and had it as the 2nd best. The only knock was he was his libido bad a little over the top. So far it’s been great! Increased energy and libido!

How do I explain to my boyfriend that I need to financially support my single mom?

Hey everyone, I'm in a bit of a tricky situation with my boyfriend of almost a year. We're talking about getting engaged, but we're having a disagreement about financial responsibilities to our parents. Some background: I'm 27 and work in finance. I grew up in a middle-class family with a single mom, and I help support her and my younger brother financially. My boyfriend is 28 and comes from a more well-off family. He works in his family business and makes significantly more than I do. The issue is that I want to set aside some money for my mom's financial security. My boyfriend doesn't agree with this. He says that as a son, it's his duty to support his mom however he wants, but that as a daughter, I should limit what I do for my mom after marriage. He thinks it should be my brother's responsibility. I'm really struggling with this traditional mindset. I feel like women are often expected to sacrifice for tradition, and it's not fair. I don't see why I should have to limit how I support my mom if I have the means to help her. Am I being unreasonable here? How can I help my boyfriend understand my perspective? Or am I missing something about his point of view? I'd really appreciate any advice on how to navigate this. Thanks!

Struggling to meditate effectively - any tips?

Hi everyone, I'm Shannon and I've been trying to incorporate meditation into my daily wellness routine, but I'm having some difficulties. I've attempted guided meditations and even participated in online seminars, but nothing seems to really help. I can only manage to meditate for about 5-10 minutes at most. My mind refuses to stay calm or thoughtless - even when I try chanting mantras, there are always background thoughts intruding. I've heard that visualization is important in meditation, but I struggle with this too. When I try to visualize, all I see is darkness. This has made me hesitant to sign up for any courses focused on intuition or meditation. Am I doing something wrong? Does anyone have advice on how to improve my meditation practice and overcome these obstacles? I'd really appreciate any tips or guidance from more experienced meditators. Thanks in advance!

Struggling with my partner's lack of growth and dishonesty on our anniversary trip

My partner (31M) and I (31F) have been together for 10 years, friends since middle school. We've built a life together, but I'm feeling drained and disappointed by his lack of initiative and recent dishonesty. On our anniversary trip to Colorado, he lied about stopping at a dispensary before picking me up. This brought up old wounds from my childhood experiences with parental infidelity. Though he's apologized and made some positive changes since returning home, I'm struggling to move past the betrayal of trust. He has ADHD and uses cannabis frequently to cope with stress. While he works as a bartender and is pursuing a master's degree, I often feel I'm carrying most of the weight in planning our future and managing responsibilities. His hyperfixation on hobbies and difficulty following through on goals is causing me to doubt our compatibility long-term. I love him deeply, but I'm concerned about starting a family with someone who may not be able to fully step up as a partner and parent. Has anyone dealt with similar relationship challenges? How did you work through trust issues and motivational differences with a long-term partner? I'd appreciate any advice on moving forward or re-evaluating this relationship.

Is this the right dosage for my wellness supplement?

Hi everyone, I just got a new liquid wellness supplement and I'm not sure about the dosage. The instructions say to take 0.65 ml per day. Does that sound like the right amount? I want to make sure I'm taking it correctly to get the full health benefits. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Looking for a Tool to Compare Supplements Used by Health Experts?

Hey everyone! As someone who's always trying to optimize my health and wellness routine, I'm constantly researching different supplements and what the experts are taking. I recently came across this amazing free tool called Human Performance Junkies that lets you compare supplements by cost and benefits, and even filter by which ones are used by health gurus like Andrew Huberman and Peter Attia. The site lets you search based on health goals like longevity, brain health, fitness, etc. It's been super helpful for me in figuring out which supplements might actually be worth trying. Apparently it was created by someone who did tons of research and built it themselves as a free resource. Pretty cool! I'd love to hear if any of you data or science-minded folks have checked it out and have any thoughts. Always looking to learn more about optimizing my supplement regimen!
