Anyone else use found objects for outdoor bodyweight workouts?

As someone who loves doing bodyweight fitness outdoors year-round, I've been following the Recommended Routine (RR) pretty consistently for the past few months. One thing I learned was the importance of hinging movements and adding weight for leg exercises. To stay true to my goal of working out outside with minimal equipment, I've started using random objects I find at my local park for added weight. There's a chunk of concrete weighing about 30 lbs and a larger stone around 80 lbs that I'm working up to. I'm curious if anyone else into bodyweight fitness uses found objects from their surroundings? Whether it's in an urban area or out in nature? I've grown to really enjoy lifting stones and other objects, but it can be awkward sometimes. Any tips or things to watch out for with this approach? I'm thinking about finding some easier-to-grip stones, weighing them, and painting the weights on them to leave at my workout spot. The other day, another regular at the park asked if he could use 'my' concrete block - I had to laugh and tell him the decaying infrastructure wasn't mine to lend out! Anyone else have experience with this type of outdoor, found-object bodyweight training?

I’ve used Testogen for 8 weeks. After just 3 weeks my body fat reduced by 6%, and I lost 10 lbs while gaining muscle mass. I still have more to drop, but with a reasonable diet, lifting 3x/week, & cardio on 2-3 other days, it defiantly gives me better results than I was getting without it. It works, even if you just go at it hard 2-3 times a week & eat decently (not perfectly), you’ll see results.

Feeling unsupported and isolated as a new parent. Need advice on balancing career, family, and relationships.

I'm looking for some advice and perspective on my current situation as a new parent. My partner and I have been together for 5 years and have a 14-month-old. We live far from family for my partner's job, and I'm struggling with feeling isolated and unsupported. My partner works long hours in a demanding career, often traveling for weeks at a time. I work part-time remotely while being the primary caregiver for our child. I handle most household responsibilities on top of childcare and my job. I'm finding it really difficult without a support system nearby. I'd like to move closer to family to have more help and community, especially as my mom is dealing with some health issues. My partner is resistant to relocating due to his career. I love my partner but I'm feeling burned out and lonely. I want to find a way to make this work for everyone, but I'm not sure how to balance all the competing needs. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have advice on finding compromises? I'm considering trying to arrange more visits home, but worry this isn't sustainable long-term. Any perspectives or suggestions would be much appreciated. I want to do what's best for my family but I'm really struggling right now. Thanks in advance for any insights.

Struggling to bail from handstands after months of practice

Hey everyone, Neal here (35m). I've been working on handstands for several months now and have made some progress. I can hold a chest-to-wall handstand for over a minute and maintain a freestanding handstand against the wall for 60+ seconds. I've even learned to correct myself when I start to fall by shifting weight to my fingers and palms. However, I'm really struggling with bailing out of the handstand safely. No matter how many tutorial videos I watch, I just can't get the hang of the cartwheel bail technique. My legs don't split properly, my body doesn't know what to do, and I always land way too hard. This fear of not being able to bail is seriously holding me back. I can't attempt a full freestanding handstand because I don't know how to get out of it safely. I'm starting to get pretty discouraged and wonder if this is even possible for me. Should I put handstands on hold and focus on learning cartwheels first? Even those are giving me trouble though. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Could it be that I'm just not flexible enough to do the leg split for bailing? Really hoping to overcome this hurdle so I can keep progressing with my handstand practice. Thanks in advance for any tips!

Recently Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea - Seeking Advice

Hello everyone, I'm Neal, a new member here. I've recently been diagnosed with central sleep apnea and a mild case of obstructive sleep apnea. As someone who's always prioritized health and wellness, this diagnosis has me looking for more information and support. I'm curious to hear from others who have experienced sleep apnea. What treatments have you found most effective? Did you encounter any challenges in getting diagnosed? I'm particularly interested in hearing about how you felt before and after treatment - have your symptoms improved? Personally, I'm still in the early stages of treatment and trying to adjust. Any tips or insights from those further along in their sleep apnea journey would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help and support!

Calisthenics-Based Hypertrophy Program - Looking for Feedback

Hi everyone! I'm Neal, a 28-year-old software developer who's been practicing calisthenics for about 3 years now. I'm 5'11" and currently weigh around 170 lbs. I've recently put together a bodyweight-only routine that focuses purely on hypertrophy, and I'd love to get some feedback from the community. I've designed this program around key hypertrophy principles - moderate rep ranges (8-12), high frequency, progressive overload, and mechanical tension - all using minimal equipment. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on the structure, progressions, and whether there's anything crucial missing or that could be improved. [The rest of the post content would follow here, formatted as in the original post, detailing the routine, progressions, and sample splits] I'm especially interested in hearing: 1. If there are any key elements missing for hypertrophy? 2. Whether the progressions seem logical and achievable? 3. If you'd suggest any changes to the frequency or rest periods? Thanks in advance for your input! I'm always looking to optimize my training and learn from others' experiences.

Finding Inner Peace: It's Already Within You

Many of us on our wellness journeys think inner peace is some distant goal we have to struggle to achieve. We imagine it's only for meditation masters or people who can afford fancy retreats. But I've realized something simpler: That sense of calm and clarity? It's already inside us. We just need to quiet our minds enough to hear it. It's not about pushing ourselves harder or checking off more wellness to-dos. It's about pausing to listen to our inner wisdom. This applies to all of us - whether we're stressed, skeptical, joyful, or going through tough times. There's no secret technique. Just a willingness to look inward with compassion. So here's your reminder for today: You don't need to do more, be more, or prove anything. Just take a moment to breathe and tune in. That's enough. You're closer than you think.
