Struggling with chronic stress and tension - need advice!
Hi everyone, I've been dealing with a lot of stress and tension lately, especially in my shoulders, neck, and head. I've tried going to the gym, but it just seems to make my muscles more sore and tense. Yoga helps a bit, but the tension comes back so quickly. Even meditation isn't really releasing the tension in my head. I find myself stuck in negative thought patterns a lot.
I've been doing hypnotherapy for about 3 years now, along with lots of meditation and yoga practice. But I'm still feeling really burned out and anxious all the time.
I'm wondering if anyone has gone through something similar and found a way to break out of this cycle? Was there a turning point where you were finally able to release tension and shift your mindset? I'd love to hear any advice or experiences. Thanks in advance!
Struggling with sit-ups despite other strength gains - any advice?
Hello everyone, I'm Dorothy, a 45-year-old mom of two who has been trying to get back in shape over the past year. I've made some good progress in many areas, but I'm puzzled by one particular issue.
I can do several pull-ups and hold a plank for over 2 minutes, but for some reason I still can't do a single proper sit-up. This has been an ongoing struggle, even back when I was more active in my younger years.
My current routine includes a mix of strength training and cardio 3-4 times a week. For core work, I mainly do planks and hanging leg raises. I've developed some visible ab definition, but sit-ups remain impossible.
My teenage daughter finds this quite amusing, as she can easily do sit-ups without any formal training. I'm starting to wonder if there's some anatomical reason behind this, perhaps related to my shorter stature (I'm only 5'2").
I don't think flexibility is the issue, as I've always been fairly flexible. Has anyone else experienced something similar or have any insights to share? I'd love to finally master this basic exercise. Thank you!
