Desperate for Restful Sleep: 83 Nights and Counting
Hi everyone, I'm really struggling with my sleep lately and could use some advice. For the past 83 nights, I've only been averaging about 6 hours of fragmented sleep per night. My roommate has untreated sleep apnea and snores loudly, causing me to wake up nearly every hour. I'm moving out in 3 weeks, but I'm worried about the long-term effects of this sleep deprivation. Does anyone know if the damage is reversible, and if so, how long it might take to recover? I'm feeling extremely fatigued, depressed, and even having some dark thoughts due to the lack of quality sleep and REM cycles. Any tips or experiences would be greatly appreciated as I try to get through these next few weeks. Thanks in advance for your support!
Have you tried using earplugs or a white noise machine to block out the snoring? Sleep deprivation can have serious effects, but recovery is possible once you're in a quieter environment. Hang in there and prioritize good sleep hygiene when you move.
