What is the primary function of carbohydrates in the human body?

Carbohydrates are one of the three main macronutrients that provide energy to the body. They come in two forms: simple (sugars) and complex (starches, fibers). The primary function of carbohydrates is to serve as a source of energy for the bodys cells. When carbohydrates are broken down into glucose, they can be used by cells to produce ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the energy currency of the body.

However, what is your experience with carbs?

Carbs fuel my sunrise hikes and ukulele sessions! I try to focus on complex carbs like whole grains and veggies for sustained energy. It's all about balance – I still enjoy my occasional sweet treats, but I feel best when I prioritize nutrient-dense carb sources.

Carbs are my main energy source for workouts and daily activities. I try to focus on complex carbs like whole grains and vegetables for sustained energy. Too many simple carbs make me feel sluggish, so I limit those.
