Struggling to find inner focus during meditation?

Fellow wellness seekers, I could use some guidance. When I'm trying a guided meditation and the instructor says to 'Focus on your temple,' I find myself completely unable to do so, even for a split second. It's as if my mind refuses to cooperate. This issue extends beyond meditation - I struggle to focus on music or other aspects of daily life as well. As someone deeply passionate about holistic living and mental wellness, this inability to focus is particularly frustrating. I'm curious if any of you have experienced similar challenges or have insights from ancient practices or herbal remedies that might help? I'm open to exploring new techniques to cultivate inner calm and focus. Have you tried starting with shorter meditation sessions? Begin with just a minute or two, gradually increasing the duration. Focus on your breath instead of specific body parts. Experiment with different types of meditation, like walking meditation or body scan techniques. Consistency is key!
