Ditching sleep pills for CBT-I: A yogi's quest for natural zzz's π§ββοΈπ€
Hey wellness warriors! Leigh here, coming at you with a bedtime breakthrough. π
So, confession time: I've been relying on sleep meds (mainly Trazodone) to catch my zzz's for a while now. Sure, they knocked me out, but the morning-after grogginess? Not exactly zen. Plus, the idea of depending on pills to sleep felt about as balanced as my tree pose after a chocolate chip cookie binge.
Then I heard this wild story about an air stewardess on Ambien who... well, let's just say it was scarier than my first hot yoga class. π±
So, in true yogi fashion, I decided to try a more holistic approach - a CBT-I sleep program. No pills, no kale smoothies (thank goodness), just some mind tricks and behavior tweaks. At first, I was more skeptical than I am of overpriced leggings, but guys... it's actually working!
It's been a few weeks, and while I'm not sleeping like my cat just yet, I'm falling asleep faster and waking up less. Still a work in progress (like my attempts at meditation), but it feels way more sustainable than popping pills every night.
Anyone else trying to ditch the sleep meds? Let's chat in the comments! Namaste and sweet dreams! π§ββοΈβ¨
